TP – Students will learn how the body functions by researching and presenting information about a major body system

Human Body PowerPoint Project

You are a member of a select team of researchers. The task ahead of you is to investigate a Human Body System; become the most knowledgeable of researchers.  You will be focusing on one system of the human body, and you will present your findings to the class.  Good luck!

Guidelines:

All information must be factual and accurate
Information must be stated in students’ own words (no plagiarism- unless put into quotes and cited with footnote)
All materials must be cited ie, Textbooks, Internet Sites, Encyclopedia according to the Bibliography Basics
Watch for correct spelling, grammar and punctuation
Each slide should include a graphic and some text
Most of all….BE CREATIVE!!

Questions to keep in mind:

1. What is the name of your body system?
2. Where is your system located?
3. What is the role of the system?
4. What organs make up your body system?
5. What are your main functions as a human body system?
6. What is each organ’s function in your body system?
7. How do you perform these functions?
8. What can go wrong with your body system?
9. How people make sure your system remains healthy?
10. What would happen if something went wrong with your body system?
11. Could a person survive without your body system?
12. Why is your system important to the human body?

o System purpose/role
o Major organs and their functions (this may require more than one slide)

8th Grade Shopping Spree

TP – Students will create spreadsheets by gathering data and writing formulas

You will open the Instruction sheet which includes what the project is and how to perform the functions of it.

You will gather your data online from various stores.  You will be recording all the data you gather.  At the end you will enter the formulas to make the spreadsheet generate the information you need.

You may start this project when you complete the budget project.  You are done if you can answer yes to the following questions:

1.  Did you complete Nov. and Dec.?

2.  Did you answer the questions on the third sheet?

3.  Did you sum up your totals?

4.  Did you find the difference?

5.  Can you define income and expense?

7th Grade New Excel Project

TP – Students will learn about balancing a checkbook (decimals & money) by using an Excel template

First, the class will have a discussion on banks, checks, and money balances.

Next the students will download the template for the checkbook:

Students will follow the teacher’s instructions and the checkbook lesson guide, which can be found at:

Please make sure to download and rename the template with your name and class number.  Make sure to enter the transactions into the digital checkbook.  After you have entered all the deposits and withdrawals you will view the bank statements.  At that point you will enter 1 in the cleared column to balance your checkbook.
